Michael Lowther - Springkell Garden’s leading garden expert - has been servicing the nursery industry for over 25 years.
Raised on a rambling and historical Scottish estate ironically dubbed Springkell, Michael’s been mowing lawns and maintaining gardens since the age of 12, where he was recruited as primary lawn mower by sweet Mrs McClellans, the village’s local candy shop owner. As compensation, Michael’s efforts were not only incentivised by the smell of freshly cut grass, but an exclusive and complimentary access to an assortment of Mrs McClellans latest sweetie’s range!
Migrating to Australia in 1974, Michael launched a career in parks and gardens across two local councils in Sydney. Carrying out a range of specialty operations stemming from tree maintenance to small and major landscape projects, Michael also laboured as a foreman gardener, responsible for the upkeep of an array of extensive parks and gardens.
Michael's next endevour drove him to Cairns where he established his first successful start-up gardening business - Garden Genies.
The deep infatuation and appreciation for the Mornington Peninsula has lead Michael and his family on their latest in a long line of adventures - Springkell Gardens.
